Roohi, a Hindi language horror-comedy movie, directed by Hardik Mehta and written by Mrighdeep Singh Lamba and Gautam Mehra. The movie is produced by Dinesh Vijan and Mrighdeep Singh Lamba under the banner Maddock Films (the makers of 2018 movie 'Stree') and Jio Studios.
In addition to Rajkummar Rao and Jahnvi Kapoor, Roohi stars Varun Sharma, Alexx O'Nell in notable roles. In the movie, Jahnvi Kapoor will be seen on the role of Roohi (the ghost), Rajkummar Rao as Bhaura and Varun Sharma as Kattanni, the two small town boys.
The story of the movie 'Roohi' is such that two small town boys Bhaura and Kattanni are stuck with Roohi in a forest. Bhaura falls in love with Roohi, but the twist in the story happens when they realize that Roohi has a separate personality and her other personality in the same body is called Afza. If Bhaura likes Roohi, then Kattanni starts liking Afza! But Roohi and Afza are the same person. Bhaura who is madly in love with Roohi is trying to get rid of Afza and Kattanni who is madly in love with Afza, wants to marry her. The boys fight with each other too.
Roohi, the horror-comedy movie starring Rajkummar Rao and Jahnvi Kapoor in lead roles is all set to release on March 11, 2021, in the occasion of Mahashivratri (in India). And the good news is that 'Roohi' is gonna be the first bollywood movie after the coronavirus pandemic to release in theaters worldwide. Also there is chances that the movie will be available to stream on Netflix.
The release date of the movie fluctuated many times, as the pandemic interrupted. Initially the makers decided to release the movie on March 20, 2020 but later announced April 17 as new release date. Then it was decided to release the movie on June 5, 2020. But now almost a year delay, Roohi is gonna be released tomorrow i.e. on March 11, 2021.
